Our true bypass strips are a very popular addition to our pedalboards and are very competitive in price. Below is a little information on what true bypass is, what it does, and why we recommend it. We also have a quick-list of the accessory switches and what they do above that. When built into a pedalboard, the switches are mounted on a powder-coated surface built flush on your board and the jacks are in a patch panel under the board. You will need to drill holes through the interior board but this is easy to do and does not affect the integrity of the board (interior board is 3/8" birch). All the electronics are shielded underneath, using copper tape and shielding tape. We use high-grade solder and military grade wire. We hand-wire all our loops and test everything with a guitar through an amp and test for ground loops or buzz. Long runs under the board either use coaxial shielded cable or are heatshrinked and shielded.

How Ordering Works
  1. Choose the number of loops you want (price is based on quantity)
  2. Choose optional add-on's (A/B, A/B/Y, Channel Selection, Master Bypass, Stereo Loop, etc)
  3. Choose the pedalboard you want it installed on (contact us if you want it separate in an enclosure)
  4. Upgrade your pedalboard (casters, 1/4" locking jacks, power inlets/outlets, etc)
  5. Be sure to pick up accessories (cables, velcro, glow-in-the-dark tape)
  6. Make a note in the checkout (if you want to change LED colors, if you want the switches staggered or straight in a row, the strip on the left of right, any questions you might have)

True Bypass Loop - bypasses a pedal or group of pedals
Tap Tempo - switch that sends tempo to delay/time sensing pedal(s) when you stomp on it (add one tempo jack for each added pedal) 
Tuner Loop - this can be wired as a normal loop and you just omit the cable from your tuner output or can mute the entire chain
Master Mute - this mutes the signal at the output when engaged
Master Bypass - this bypasses all the loops and even the circuitry. Sends guitar signal straight from the input to the output
A/B - this switches back and forth between two amps
A/B/Y - this switches between two amps and "Y" runs both amps at the same time (requires two switches)
Send/Return - basically a normal loop but sends signal to a effects loop of an amp or to an effects rack
Channel Selector - this changes the channel on your amp. Contact us if it is more than one switch on your current switcher



The true bypass strip does 3 things: 

1. Cleans up your tone. It bypasses all the cabling and pedals that aren't needed at the time so that you get the cleanest tone. Even the best cable and the nicest pedals will still suck tone just because the signal has to travel further and the resistance of the cable affects the signal. 

2. Makes things less complicated. You leave your pedals on and then just switch on and off what you need at the bottom of the board. You don't have to do a dance to switch pedals. Also, the strip has LED lights so you know what pedals are on or off in one place instead of having to look at every individual pedal to see what is on or off.

3. Makes troubleshooting simple. If you have a bad cable or a pedal malfunctions you just press the button and it is bypassed. You can find the problem quickly and then fix it then or after the gig. You don't have to go searching wires to find the problem. We also have a master bypass function which bypasses even the strip so that your input goes directly to your output so you can see whether there is any problem inside the board at all. 

The input of your guitar goes into the strip and then distributes to each switch. When you engage the switch (turn it on) it sends the signal to your pedal and back which then goes to the next switch. If you disengage the switch (turn it off) it just sends the signal to the next switch. If you have all the switches off, your signal goes directly from your input from your guitar to the output to the amp.
